Hi
Translating a report about 1.11a patch from a Spanish player...
He reports that a problem with the French activation event is still there (a leader called Forey repeatedly appearing)
Could it be because the campaign was started with the previous patch (1.11)?
It's needed to restart the camping for the fix to work?

Also the guy confirms also richfred's problems number 2 and number 4.

Regards!

Now, folks, please help me...
I may be getting mad  or old :p apy: , but I think that the "resume" button in the main menu is broken in 1.11?. Before, in 1.10, I could swear that it always worked in loading the most current game. Now it only works if we do not close AACW. If we close AACW, and then open it again, nothing happens when I click the resume button - I have to manually load the latest game to continue playing. This in a clean install, 1.11a, windows xp. The funny thing is that I tried, and, both with the latest patches, in NCP the resume button works fine - it always loads the last game - but in WIA it does not do nothing...
Am I seeing things ?

Gray_Lensman wrote:First off, just what versions are you talking about? I can understand 11a to mean v1.11a, the latest patch. What does 10a mean, the v1.10a patch? That's rather ancient by now, and there have been no major supply issues reported in the intervening patches. Also, I don't think there were any changes to the supply distribution system in the last few patches since then, (v1.10a was released on 5/16/2008). Since then, there has been v1.10b, v1.10c, v1.10d, v1.11, and finally most recently v1.11a.

Second, I'm sorry, maybe I missed something but what do you mean by "bam the supply issue"? I will try to help you if you can be more clear on the specifics.
I think that Barker is talking about his trymedia download version which comes as 1.10a.

When he patches to 1.11a, the trymedia version is rejected ("no supply asset" error), therefore the "supply issue".

@Barker: didn't Pocus sent you a new serial, me thinks? If so, install the game, patch to 1.11a and then run the AGE "configuration utility" (it is in the AACW start menu) and insert the new serial there (copy&paste).

There is only one version of the most recent patch available at ageod's.

Did you run the configuration utility? Please do so and enter the correct serial. Then patching should work fine.

Gray_Lensman wrote:I've never used it in the way, that you are posting about. I've only used it to "Resume" a game from the Menu after escaping to the menu from the game itself. Whenever, I restart the game, I always load the game I was playing by clicking on the "Load Game" box and then clicking the particular game I was involved with.

I tested this and I will confirm that it does not "Resume" a game when you restart the game itself... Whether it used to or not before v1.11a is something I wouldn't know about.

I am 99,9 % certain that it did work like that before 1.11, and it was cetainly very useful. I also confirm that it works in NCP - I was able to "resume" a game that I was playing 3 months ago (not being playing NCP a lot, these days :D ), but not in WIA. So, something must have been changed in the code in the latest patches (NCP isn't patched for a while).
No big deal, but it is a very useful function...

Hi

As Gray, i thought is just served to resume the game you ware playing... i mean getting back from the main menu to the map. At least on AACW...
But on NCP (at least on the last patch) i discovered recently that it worked like Franciscus says. You just launch the game and clicking resume will automatically load the game you were playing the last day you used the game. Very convenient!
Not sure how it works on WIA...
In any case, it seems it works different depending which AGEOD game we are talking about.
But certainly it would be very useful if in all games worked like in NCP, IMHO.
Cheers!

As far as I can recall, the resume button in AACW brought you back to your current game if you were to leave the game screen to go back to the main screen to, say, change the options mid-game. It does not resume a current game if you were to close the program down and then restart. I believe it has always worked that way.

richfed wrote: -- When you click on a town, a message pops up under the weather section that says: "Military Activation" [though misspelled!!!!]. If you click a second time, it also says: "Construction Mode". Is this new? If so, what does it mean/do? I never recall seeing that before. If it is NOT new, I still would like to know its use. :bonk:

Anyone? Is this a new [maybe unfinished] feature? Or something I have completely overlooked in the past?

hit 'R' for the resume button, no need to moooove your mouse over the right area and then click.

Resume should resume the last game loaded, even if you quit the game, it memorizes what was the last file you loaded.

According to PhilThib and Pocus posts in the French forum, this a new feature for VGN, that somehow "leaked" in the latest patch to AACW. It has no function in AACW. I believe it will be corrected soon ?

I believe you meant "saved" instead of "loaded" :siffle:

And yes, it did work like that in AACW (after all, I played a whole campaign using it to resume playing...) but it got broke in the latest patches (1.11 and 1.11a)

Yes !! "R" works :coeurs: :coeurs: , you are right. Hitting "R" I am able to continue my last saved game, as before. But the mouse-click definitely got broke in the latest patches (1.11, 1.11a)

I found another thing that was not working as it used to when you switch army commanders usualy just hitting hte switch button will change it well it doese change commanders but you i found that you have to take them out of group then hit the minus sign to take them apart them form it or else the army wont set up.
Quote General Lee Gettysburg movie,
"Do you see, General, there is the great trap, to be a good soldier you must love the army, to be a good commander you must be ready to order the death of the thing you love. We don't fear our death. But if this war goes on and on and the men die and the price gets ever high. We are prepared to lose some of us, but we are never prepared to lose all of us. We are adrift here in a sea of blood and I want it to end. I want this to be the final battle".

Ok

As I understand this patch, 2 new features:
1. ability to rename units or stacks alt- click force tab
2. Find regions: Ctrl-F

2 other problems:
1. resume game feature in main screen does not work need to use R key
2. swithing army commanders not working

CobraII, swithching army commanders key which key is the Crtl? Ctrl+C, this is a new command to me. Some one clarify.

My ACW Test

Sun Sep 07, 2008 11:17 pm

Before I begin, I have all updates to this game except for 1.09 saved on my HD. I have the original 1.07h which came with the cdv version of the on DVD.

Using the 1.07h as a base I have created a test bed ACW Test to install patches. I start the game and when the main menue comes up I quite. I open the !main log and I copy it.

So far with this last patch has corrected the Rodes and Schofield error scence patch 1.08a. After some more research I have found this error in the log that has been introduced with 1.07h when the program loads the frontends
...................................................................................................
5:38:59 PM (Reporting) TMediaLibrarian.GetMediaInfo: Unable to find MediaInfo for image: Progress_Back
.....................................................................................................
What Progress_back is supose to do I can not finad any such file in 1.07h.
Question for the DEVS what did it do or was suppose to do?

My guess at one time or was planed that a fuction to turn back a patch to and earlier version was in the game or planed to be a fuction. The search by the programming code is still looking for those fuctions.

installed 1.10 and this came up also with the progress_back in the loading of the frontends
.................................................................................................
5:43:21 PM (Reporting) TMediaLibrarian.GetMediaInfo: Unable to find MediaInfo for image: RpBackground
....................................................................................................
RpBackground? What is this? or What was it for?

Both of these Unable to find errors have been carried over in, 1.10a,b,c,d and 1.11 and 1.11a.

I believe and I maybe wrong any problem with the game will arise in what is first loaded and the !main log is a good first indicator. I have uploaded three Imain logs: 107h, 108a and 110

The files that are unable to load has not caused any problems in game play yet. I wonder if I am  to be bothered by those line enteries in the
!main log?

The two files are not necessary but don't make anything bad either. We will remove them.
