*** AACW Demo released!! ***

Wed May 02, 2007 5:02 pm

Dear players,

The AGEOD's American Civil War demo is now online!

(~ 300 MB)

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/latest/AACW_Demo.zip

The demo contains 4 scenarios or tutorials:

1. Standard Tutorial
2. Command Chain Tutorial
3. Bull Run Scenario (playable both side)
4. 12 turns of the full 1861 July Campaign (playable both side)

It comes also with 3 PDF files, installed in the AACW program group (Start Menu): The Manual, Pictorial Tutorial, Leaders List and description.

Demo limitations:
Winterized terrains are not in, to reduce size of download (the upper interface landscape and the tooltip in each region give you the weather though).
You can't continue past the end turn (in the full game you can continue as you wish)
Leaders not supposed to be there won't work in the demo.
Blockade Percentage can't go above 10%

Your feedback will be appreciated! Don't hesitate to register in our forum:

Regards,

The AGEOD Team.

Woot! Time to spread the news to other forums. :)

Massive demo! as with the BoA demo it just make me wanna finish my exam so I can play ... just one more month...

edit: I really like the evolution from BoA especially the armyhierarchy and that you build your own units - nice one :coeurs:

Yes, massive is the proper word. "Appropriate" demo too. Gives a perfect idea of what this project is all about.

Demo appears to have overwritten my game copy

Mon May 07, 2007 1:26 am

I bought the game a few weeks ago and have been enjoying the game, as I learn the system. I downloaded the demo just to see what it would be like, and it appears to have overwritten my game copy. :tournepas

When I click on the short cut or from my program files the game that comes up is the Demo vers 1.02b. No where can I find my game copy. Also when I click on the Demo thread on the forum, it brings up the demo save message from my Demo download.

Do I need to delete the Demo and and reload my game copy? The copy in my program directory now, is the Demo!

thanks

From what you're saying, I'd say yes :)

Yes you should, and you'd better use different folders...

any chance on getting the demo upgraded....

Wed Jun 13, 2007 8:30 am

I know this is a low priority, but as the title indicates....when you get some time, will the demo be upgraded to the latest version or can we just patch it? :innocent:

I would love to buy the game, but right now I think my system is too old....just loading the game takes about 10 minutes. Once it is loaded it seems to run fine...well, really slow especially when I try to move around the map....but at least it lets me try some of the features and drool.

Lonster, don't scroll the map! Learn the locations in game and use minimap! I click on the minimap to get to different locations. Scrolling kills my laptop!

You can also try to tweak Memory options in the main main menu to lighten the load on your High mem.

This is planned for rather soon indeed, as we will soon announce that someone will distribute our game somewhere :niark: ... and an updated demo will look prettier

1.05b demo is online, it corrects a small discrepancy in the 2nd tutorial.

1.05b? Is the full game going to get updated from 1.05a to 1.05b or is it just a fix for the demo?

Serial Number

Mon Jun 25, 2007 5:31 pm

I updated the Demo with 1.05b and it now asks for a serial number when I try to start it. Is there a fix for this?

I ordered the game (box) Friday and would like to get some play time while waiting.

Thanks

The patch is only for the full game, the demo is in 1.05b though, so simply install it again.
