I don't suppose this is really a "technical" issue but more of a gripe--so far as I can determine, the game does not allow holding onto old saved game files, meaning that the game has no "Awww shucks!" fudge factor if you pull a really bone-headed move ("I didn't want Washington to assault, I wanted him to besiege!!!"), and wind up getting the Continental Army wiped out after 5 hours of gameplay. If this happens, I can't back up to a saved file a while back and start back up again, I have to start a new game all the way back at turn one, and begin the whole gory business over again...
Am I missing something in the save game mechanics, or is this as designed? If "as designed", well...it would be nice if it were "redesigned"... :P How do I go about "archiving" old saved game files for revisiting if I really stuff things up? I really loathe getting all the way to June 1776, getting the Continental Army slaughtered along with the best generals of the war, and instead of being able to go back one turn, have to go allllll the way back to Bunker Hill again....
