Destroying RR lines... Days to destroy?

How many days are requested in order to destroy RR lines? Is it done in the very begining of the turn?

In order to destroy a DEPOT, seems 5 days are needed.


If an enemy troop is in a RR 1 day ahead from my troops in RR.
Can I put them in RR and go chasing for it?

I wil larrive before or after the troop has time to destrouy it?

Im not sure, because as other rules are in use (such as detection...)

Following my question...

I ve put Stonewal with a Corps on Rail road, going through the "going to destroy-my-RR-cavalry" and going another area ahead.

Railroad was destroyed during the turn.

BUT.. I arrived day 2 to the 2nd area

So?

Cant understand... Perhaps RR is destroyed on day 5 for example, assuming the cavalry avoided my corps (it was very big...)
