Small icons.. magnify?

Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:03 am

I just noticed the tiny icons in the battle screen that tell you many little facts about the battle.. the chain of little round ones below the units.

Anyway, with these and also the leader trait icons, they are shown rather small even at good screen resolutions (and I often play on a not so good monitor).

Whilst it is a bit of a change to the game, and possibly not patchable, it would be great to be able to toggle the cursor to be a mangifying glass. This would operate a lens effect on part of the screen to show the details a little larger.

Maybe I should just get glasses or a bigger monitor instead.

All these icons work in conjunction with the tool-tip feature. The information is very accessible and shouldn't present too much of a reading difficulty.

Yeah. Just place your cursor on top off one and the tool tip displays saying what it is.

Yes, I can indeed see the text on the tool tip.
It just seems a shame that the icons have been designed but I cannot read them clearly.
Never mind, just a thought.

I think Grey Lensman posted something in the ACW forum which showed a way of magnifying certain portions of the map to make it easier to read. Unfortunately I can't remember any of the details but I would assume if it works for ACW it will work for NCP. Try a new post in the ACW forum - I think he does post quite regularly so there's a good chance he'll read it. I've had a quick scan in the forum but I can't find anything

Apologies if it wasn't him who posted it - I think I read about it a couple of months ago but didn't pay too much attention to it
