How to quickly find a location on the map?

Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:52 pm

Is there a list of all of the regions and towns and where they are found? Or to click on to bring one to that location immediately. For example, if I wanted to find Port Gibson and didn't know where in the USA to look for it, would I have to simply try to scan the entire map with my mouse to find it? Or is there a way to jump right to it from a list?

I ask because, for example, my opponent told me that he captured Port Gibson, however, that event did not show up in the list of messages telling me, the NON-host, that Port Gibson had been captured. So is there a way other then consulting a map atlas, for me to find where port Gibson is without hunting all over the map for it?

Probably a stupid question but I really don't know how else to find it.

Thanks.

Hi
You can double click on a message and it will take you to the location it is talking about.
But if there is no message... no, there isn't a way that i know about.
But you can turn on the control filter and check for a blue (USA) area on your southern states. :siffle:
That or use and atlas or google (who says Port Gibson is up the mississippi river from New Orleans, between Natchez and Vicksburg :sourcil :) .
Anyway, its waaaaay more difficult for us Europeans :p leure:
But a couple hundreds hours playing AACW can improve ones knowledge of United States geography A LOT! :niark:
Cheers!

The AACW Wikipedia has a complete list of regions though.

I think we know all the geography we need to by now.
