Seniority question

Mon Sep 15, 2014 6:45 pm

Hi all!

Is there an ingame possibility to check my generals seniority - like the AACW 1?
Quite annoying when I build an army HQ and I don't know which of my generals can be the best choice to command the army....

Thanks for yor help!

When you move your mouse cursor above a leader it will display an information "bubble" with the seniority :

A side note : in CW2 you don't need anymore an HQ to build an army.

It sounds like he's referring to a generals listing in the ledger, as we had with AACW. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Yes, I hoped it "hiding" somewhere in the ledger.... Maybe after a patch.... :)

If you want to know who is seniormost, hover over a lit Create Army button of a 3* and the tooltip will tell you who gets mad.

Sorry if you already know this, but from the wording above you may not: HQ units are not necessary for Army formation like they were in AACW, you can form one around any 3* you want (although you still have to pay if they don't have seniority).

Thanks for the tip. I really didn't know it.

The Army HQ gives some bonus for the stack (eg. training) only, nothing else?

What do you think about the ledger-thing? I have some unassigned generals and when I begin to recruit a new division or organize a corps or army it can be useful to find out EASILY who could be the most capable leader from the unassigned guys. Only a new filter nothing else.

Suggestion for the leader ledger:
- name
- seniority
- rank
- stat values
- locked or not (eg. injured)
- leading a division/corps/army this turn

HQs give three benefits: 2 extra CPs, (same as a signal Corps) faster Cohesion recovery, (same as a Medical unit) and XP bonus (same as a Training Master). They are awesome, but expensive. I put them in the largest stacks that will see the most combat. They give their effects to any stack they are in, it does not HAVE to be an Army. If you keep your Army stacks small and use them as reserves put the HQ up front in a Corps.

The ledger is clunky, but if you tinker with it it can give you useful info. Not sure if you are saying that you think the ledger CAN easily show which is your best unassigned general or if you are saying that it CANNOT easily show which is the best general. It definitely CAN, but it needs a specific combination of filters and sorting to do so, which is not readily apparent. The Regions tab on the ledger is really useful too, it can show you what regions are giving you the most resources, and more importantly which ones give VPs and need to be guarded. Also, the Region tab accurately takes into account NM and loyalty when figuring out production, unlike Cntrl-click on the map which only shows the structures in the cities and their base production values.

Thank you. I played several times AACW1, but I'm beginner in the AACW 2.
