Leader statistics question

Quick question, I know that leader statistics can change when they are promoted. Do leader statistics (strategic, attack, defend) change with experience, too? Also, is experience preserved after promotions?

Yes, attack and defense change with experience (defense is increased by one when first level of experience is reached, attack at second level, then defense at third, etc.)

If I remember well, when promoted a leader lose one level of experience (he is new in this position).

But when some leaders (for example Sherman) are promoted, they get a new model which gives them new abilities or fewer abilities, and sometimes other changes. In this case, do they keep their old experience? If they had lots of experience and have gained two levels (so one defense and one offense), do they still get to be level 2 with the defense bonus?

They should loose some old experience, not all of it. I think, he will definitely drop a level when promoted, maybe even more depending on a situation (he actually losses XP points, not levels)

Keep in mind that large experience gains might follow as they were in AACW; IOW, they'll gain STR as well after seven or so points. I haven't seen it yet, but it may still apply.
