Attirition mechanics

Let's say I am moving my stack through harsh weather, and I want to move slowly so as to minimize attrition. Does it make any difference to the way the game engine handles attrition whether a) I move far enough this turn to use up the entire two weeks, and then rest for all of the next turn, or b) move far enough this turn to be on the move for half the days, and then move far enough the second turn to again be on the move for half the days. (I understand that the commander might not be activated the second turn, but that risk aside)

every day of movement exposes you to movement attrition, so you can minimise that if you opt not to make a full 15 day march. In winter, if you try to move say 5-8 days, you have some chance of arriving with enough cohesion for an assault, if you go the full 15 days, then you are likely to find your commander will refuse combat.

Use rail movement if possible. If you are behind the lines where you shouldn't encounter enemy units have your stack enter a town at the end of the move to recover cohesion losses the quickest. ALWAYS be sure to keep your stack in supply. Cohesion losses can be traded for supplies if they are not too extreme. Try not to be moving too much in winter in bad weather.
