Unofficial quick fix - my mod

Sun Sep 22, 2013 9:35 am

I was sorry to hear many of you decided to not play until first patch is out. So I decided to make a quick fix for Corps activation in March 62. Just search game folder for files
1861 April Campaign.sct
1861 July Campaign.sct

Make a backup of those files. Now unzip corps.zip file, and copy my files over original ones. Corps should now be active from March, 1862, as intended. This will work only if current game date is before March, 1862.

Some of you also complained that money is broken in the game - you are constantly short on it. It comes from volunteer option not behaving as it should. Do not choose pay money for volunteers because it will draw pay for volunteers every turn instead just on the first turn - like a giant maintenance cost. Just choose call for volunteers without paying for conscripts - upper left button, and the game will work fine.

Happy gaming :)

The first time you take the option it should work OK, you can chose to pay a bounty, it is the second time in Jan 1862 that causes the problems. Don't take any option where you have to pay anything.

Awesome thanks for the fix. For those looking where to put them, the files go in the CW2/Events folder.

Thanks Ace. I wonder why the company didn't do that?

Is that the fix for the 'Pay for volunteers' glitch? I just got burned by that one. In early 1863 I have 20,000 manpower points but no money to spend on them. I don't suppose there is a way to repair the game that I'm playing? It was going so nicely until I ran out of money. I even waited it out until the next 'Pay for volunteers' cycle at which time I chose Don't Pay and it is still charging me 375K every half month.
Thanks

This quick fix was tackling corps bug - and it is now outdated, because it is fixed in beta patch RC4 as well as many other things. Your problem is also fixed in 1.01RC4 patch, you need to start a fresh game though.

send me your saved game with the orders set and I'll see if I can process a new turn cleared of the problem(s). No guarantee though: pocus@ageod.net

Looks like I have to update to the 1.01RC4 patch. I will just start a new one Pocus and see if I can do better. Thanks for the offer it's not really worth the effort.
Cheers

ok, RC4 has the options fixed, this has been confirmed by the betas and several players. Have a nice game and don't hesitate to crank up difficulty if you want good challenge :)
