help, please

I purchased & downloaded the game. The map is a work of art & worth the price of admission. I am very impressed with the quality of the UI especially from an artistic point of view. I will tell you the screenshots were so visually appealing they induced me to buy the game.

I am having trouble learning how to merge units with their transportation (ships & bateaux) & how to figure out how much the transportation units can carry.

I would agree with others who would really like to see a hot key to cycle through the units. It would be good to have the unit list sorted from north to south also.

It is a bit early for me to pass judgement on gameplay because I am just learning the interface. The game plays a lot like a board game & this is good! The documentation is a bit spare & I would love to see all the information going into some of the posts from the developers on the board appear in the user manual. I would like to be able to access the user manual from the START menu also.

I applied the patch but there is also a zipped 1776 Carolinas scn file in the patches. Where does it go?

Great game. I have read a lot about the Seven Years War & the American Revolutionary War. It is really fun to see the era come alive in your game.

And thanks very much for the helpful & civil nature of the forums supporting your game. I appreciate all the hard work & the good spirit that accompanies the work.

Can you imagine how great a game of the American Civil War would be using this game engine?!?!

Patch 1.02 enable E,R keys for prev/next army. T,Y keys for prev/next fleet. Use CTRL key at the same time to browse only the non-moving armies/fleets.

Use drag&drop for merging 2 armies together

It's sleeping time now ;)

I think you can ignore the Carolinas.scn download. The 1.01 patch inadvertently made a few unintended changes to the Carolinas scenario (removed some Colonial units), and I think the download was just a fix for that. The problem is fixed in the 1.02 senario. I just played the Carolinas scenario with the 1.02 patch and the problem is fixed.

Hotkeys to cycle thru units were added in the 1.02 patch today--check the patch notes!

The easiest way to merge units is by clicking and dragging the tab for the land units onto the naval or bateaux units you want to carry them.

Weight and transport values can be found in the Unit Models text file in the docs folder of your BoA folder. Essentially, transport must be equal or greater to the weight being carried. I don't have the game up right at this moment and I don't recall if these values are in-game, but I believe they are.

The Carolins Scen file should go in the ....Boa\scens directory and replaces the old version.

the carolinas scenario in a zip file is no longuer needed, the 1.02 as the right one.

the weight is listed in the tooptip of each army, as is the transport capacity of a fleet. The weight is also listed in the tooltip of each individual regiment, and in the element detail window, for each company.

the game supports alt-tab without problems, so you can simply launch in parrallel the game and the PDF manual and switch between the 2.
