Naval engagement

Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:06 am

Hi folks, can anyone explain the rule regarding blocking passage for land units across a strait such as Hellespont? I assume if the enemy have at least one naval combat strength point in the sea region or an adjacent region then passage will be blocked? What if I also have one naval strength point in the region (or adjacent?) - will that allow passage? If not will I gain passage if I have two strength points for this example?

I'm also confused about the various modes fleets can be in. I could have passive and evade mode set for my fleets - but also have intercept set on. What happens then if I encounter an enemy fleet? What does intercept do exactly? What if I have intercept off but an aggressive stance? There seem to be combinations possible that make little sense. Not much about this in the manual.

Then there are the patrol and evasion ratings for ship types.

Cheers,
Chris

You need several elements in the sea, something like 6 to have a high chance of cutting the link between the 2 land masses. This depends of the values set by the designers. I believe the ships must be alone also (not contested water)
