Building structures?

Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:55 pm

How do I go about building structures, such as forts and fortified lines? What are the requirements?

Also, what's the requirements for destroying rails?

Excellent point

As a fairly defensive player, the "Build Fort" section has always puzzled me-can't remember seeing it active

Also-seeing as there are two levels of fort is there a way to upgrade fortresses?
Also Cheers to le Anders for raising the question

The question was asked somewhere before, in order to do this in a stack one must have 3-6(can't remember for sure) artillery units. When you have enough of them, the button activates. This is all I can recall on the matter.

Cheers Orel, i've since found the thread here
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?19565-Building-forts&highlight=redoubt

And am on my way to constructing a barrier those damned reds won't be able to break, ah the satisfaction of building one's first fort

Edited: mine took 9 light artillery pieces and two units of supply (4 parts apiece), which is a fair enough balance seeing as the used up Artillery doesn't count as part of the unit pool.

Currently in the 1.06a version, you need a stack of 10 elements of Artillery and 8 elements of Supply to build a fortified line in a town, and 8 elements of Artillery and 6 elements of supply to build a redoubt in a region without town.

I noted to update the button's tooltip so that it be more clear about it for the next patch.

You don't need anything to destroy rails, just time, and some chance to make the time shorter.

Cheers, was reading through the earlier discussion about balance-and must say the current one pretty much hits the target, found myself having two corps commanders advancing with the artillery and supplies not far behind in a recent campaign

Excellent idea, i'm rather primitive in what little modding i do-i've yet to match ideas with what's possible to change

Mmmh... actually, you can't do Redoubt... just Fortified lines, in region with towns or not, at a cost of 10 arty units with a single element and 2 supply wagon with 4 elements.
