Like a small boy prodding a hornets nest to see what happens I did just that - as GBR in Freetown

Consequently I have a unit that retreated to Ropulku(?) which is undiscovered area. As I cannot see unit presume its wandering around cursing me!

Point is: surely it should have retreated to the Garrison.

Any views anyone?

Better retreat than die, I suppose. The thing to do is cycle through your land units (E or R) until you locate it within the undiscovered countries, then order it back to Freetown. There is the risk that attrition will kill it before it gets back - I hope it's a colonial type as they fare better against attrition.
