1 week turns

Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:37 pm

I have Napoleons campaigns which is 1 week turn. I'm just playing the demo of ROP because I like the tactical level better but what I really miss is a 1 week turn like in Naps campaigns.
Is there a mod or possibiltiy to make the turns a 1 week turn. I think it's really necessary to syncronize the movements.
I don't have too much hope that it's possible :( but hope dies at last. ;)

I don't think there's too much hope in that. I think I read where they said it really screws with the production of supply. I think you get double what you should get.

Probably messes with other things as well. I'm trying to remember what game forum I saw that on. But, it was one of the Aegod games, I know that.

If it were something simple like that you'd just have to adjust every element in the game's supply consumption and storage, also structures' capacity to store supply. On the other hand lowering structures' production of supply might be the easier choice. In any case, changeing from 2-week turns to 1-week would mean a lot of small changes almost everywhere. Most changes should be simple ones, but almost every entry in the database would be involved in some way...

what a pitty. Thanks anyway, but then it's not "realistic" in my opinion because the reaction time of the Ruler it that time was under 2 weeks.

"seven years war" was 50 years before "coalition (aka napoleonic) wars". So compared to the doctrine at that time and the scale of the map I would say 2 week turns are "realistic".

My 5 cents,

Oho, if you end up liking NCP, then you will definitely like RoP. More robust campaign, and the battle displays are a lot more detailed. You'll see the amount of troops committed, troops assaulting, the numbers of troops depleting as they become casualties, forces retreating. A lot better display.

Oh, you probably know a lot of that by playing through the demo, but pay attention to the demo and compare all aspects to NCP. I'm sure I'll like NCP, but RoP is a little more polished and I'm sure many would say that.
