Hello just two things here. Will the AI be able to form alliances against you or each other? Also how will the game cope with major wars amongst the major powers and will there be a World War One like war breaking out in the game or even earlier than the original war? This should be quite interesting to see thanks.

yes AI can form alliances.
It is possible to have a Great War yes. Either 'naturally' because of tensions, or because of 'road to wars' events that appear in the last part of the game. But WWI can be avoided.
