Graphical glitch...

Sat Sep 18, 2010 10:31 pm

All right, I've come across some strange graphical glitches in my learning curve of WW1 gold.

As you can see, units drawing do disappear on map and on unit card.
The second glitch (both occur evenly randomly): unit cards are "blackened" and when active, the game becomes very very laggy.

So, what's wrong with my game?

Does it happen regularly also when you quit the game and run again WW1?

A) If so, probably some graphic files are (have been) corrupted: make a backup of your savegames and do a fresh new install.

B) Otherwise, after a long play-time, probably the video RAM has been corrupted.

Case A) means the file on the HD has been corrupted. Case B) means the RAM is corrupted, so it's a temporary effect.

It happens regulary, indeed. All things are back at normal when loading the game again. But then the glitch come back after moments of play. And it's not temporary: as soon as the glitch occurs, the game stays this way until I quit to desk and relaunch it.
I can't be absolutely positive, but it seems related to any changement of phase or turn.

I will try to reinstall the game then, but I'm using the pre-ordered version (that lacks a "normal" exe) + gamer's gate Gold upgrading patch. If these elements are of any importance.

Right... I'm still having this issue with a brand new fresh install with a normal exe version.
So I guess something is wrong with my system as it seems to appears when I change turns and get back to normal when I quit/reload the whole game.
Not totally a game killer, but I'm a uniform guy, I love watching the cards...
