How useful are these units generally? Will my cavalry raiders still be able to pass through enemy military control as easily with them?

They move like cavalry and have similar patrol/evade ratings. Excellent for raiding forces and other high-mobility situations. CSA horse arty is very bad, though. It counts as a support unit, so it will add more firepower given frontage limitations for line troops, but it isn't that strong.

Plus its speed mod is 100% instead of 120%, so it slows down your cavalry significantly (though it is horse movement instead of wheeled movement). I use HA in my combat cavalry divisions only.
