Yes, one reason I have been reducing my involvement in gaming as a hobby.
I like to buy boxed copies and be off-line when I game. If I get bored of a game I want to be able to influence the children of my friends by giving them the game. Games like PoN are thinking games and this type of choice isn't even seen by most of the nippers, the future adult games buyers. Any Steam registered game cannot be given away, it is linked to the account forever, and their junk files remain on your computer even if the game is deleted by you.
I've seen about 5 games I was interested in over the past 3 years but then discovered there was a Steam involvement so decided not to buy. Unlike you I also don't like this monopolistic company. The same regarding Microsoft.
