'Wizard' Forrest slays Yankee invader, raises them from the dead and takes them POW!

Quite an interesting battle..........

Can someone tell me what exactly happened here?

Around 5500 Yankee troops armed with 17.000 rifles and producing 9700 POWs?

:bonk: :tournepas :niark:
I would say the number of USA men guns and horses are wrong. Judging by the numbers of elements they must be much more than 5000 guys.
Now, i have not a clue about why or how the numbers got wrong...
Never saw it before :bonk:
What version is it? did you did some editting/modding? Is a PBEM game? If so maybe something got corrupted... but definitely is strange.
By the way, congrats for the 17.000 rifles!! Sure they will come handy! :niark:

Large portions of that union force starved just prior to the battle. That caused the discrepancies in the numbers. The regimental organizations still existed but there weren't the men available to fill them. You can think of them as stragglers dragging themselves through the snow to surrender, because they knew your troops had food.

Those were actually some pretty beat up units, I was thinking about a nice way to surround them, as encirclement-destruction is the way to go for the CSA, when they decided to lend a hand a suicide themselves on my position.

The 17.000 would come in pretty handy.... if I didn't already have 1.200.000 lying around....... check out my war supplies.

This is a standard 1.10d game, I tend to go for a ginourmous fleet of Blockade Runners and some pretty hefty Industrialization in the first few turns so I can churn out whatever is needed later on. Money and WS are never my constraints, just good ol' Southern Boys to make up my forces.

Having said that, I know this would be impossible to add right now, but maybe something in future games, I keep getting really negative events when I am clearly surviving or even winning the war, food riots etc. It would be nice to have a 'Choose your option' kind of Europa Universalis event engine.

A bit late to explain but something like:

'Sir, what should we focus on in our struggle for Independence'

A) Guns! (+10 WS, Food riot events activated)
B) Butter! (+3 NM, -10% WS Production, Food Riot Events Deactivated)

And so on and so on.

While I am in a creative mood, a 'Select Guns' option would also be cool, a la Forge of Freedom.

Select Weapons for 1st South Carolina Brigade (3 different build options)

A) Muskets (Cheap, Bad combat stats)
B) Minie Rifle (Average)
C) Some of them expensive Brit guns, Yeehaw! (Cost more WS + loads of cash, better stats, requires +40 Foreign Intervention, makes Blockade running more interesting)

Ah ok, that makes sense.... the AI does have a somewhat negligient habit of leaving large forces 'in the snow with nowhere left to go.......'. Helps me, as nasty 1500+ forces evaporrate, but they don't show up in any Objectives, I'm sure freezing 40.000 guys to death, every winter, can't be good for your NM.........

Oh yes, that would be sweet. I love the ideas. Maybe something for AACW2. :siffle:

Prisoners are not counted in the men lost tally actually. The men lost are the ones killed during battle, not the captured.

17.000 rifles means in game term 17 War supply captured. As your enemy lost guns, he lost quite a lot of war supply using units, so this explain the result. It is a game ... war material is expressed in thousands of rifles in the report, but only to add flavor. In reality you are gaining war supply, not rifles.
