Is there an autosave?

Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:23 pm

My game crashed while processing a turn. I Have not saved it in quite a few turns. I would like to pick it up where it crashed but I do not see an 'autosave' or recent gamefile on the menu to choose which saved game I would like to play.

Thank you.

(Yes, I'm kinda new)

Try starting up again and clicking 'Resume Game' from the main menu?

That might work (I am new also)

Crashes happen to me too. But the game saves itself when you hit the next turn button. I would reccomend making a backup save every 10 turns or so too, by pressing CTRL+ left click on the save button and you can make a backup file.

The "resume game' button did not load the game since the program closed.

How would I access the file which the 'game saves every turn'? I will save every few turns in the future, but that doesn't help me now.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, cleflar :)

Have you checked which games you can see in the "load game" screen; your current game should be there; as stars&bars says, the game is auto-saved each turn

Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU

213 GHz 200 GB RAM

(if I am reading the system properties correctly)

There is the last save of my game (saved 2/29) which is about 9 months earlier in game time than the game date on which the game crashed.

Rafiki is correct. "Resume game" is used if you are playing the game, and you exit to the main menu to change settings etc during a game. To load a game you were playing after closing and booting up AGEOD's ACW, you use "Load Game".

Well if thats the only save in there, then thats the one you will have to load from I'm affraid. It has happend to me in the past, the worst of which was towards the end of a campaign in 1864 and i lost all the game :grr:

I assume you have the latest patch installed 1.09b . Apart form that, you should get used to making a backup campaign save file every so often too(if you hover your mouse over the save button in game, it will tell you how to do so), especially do so if you have made important movements on map. Stick with it, its a good game. And dont be affraid to use the normal save button now and again too.
