English or French?

Mon Nov 12, 2007 6:21 pm

Hello,

New member. Been reading up on these games with piqued interest. I'm currently going through the demos.

As someone completely bilingual (though virtually all my games are in English), I'm wondering whether the English or French version is inherently better. Given that this is based on the ACW, playing in English sounds like the more favorable option. However, I've read in reviews on Birth of America that things like some French sections in the English manual are present. Also, I'm wondering how the English localization in the game is. Does the writing work well, or is it simply better in French? (having someone who's had exposure to both versions would be helpful here).

Naturally, I'd be inclined to play AACW in English, and something like Napoleon's Campaigns in French. I'm not sure about Birth of America, given that it could go both ways.

Essentially, are both language version equally acceptable? Can I freely switch around languages in the full version of the games?

It's probably a trivial issue, but I'm interested in the answer :niark:
Thanks.

The English version leaves nothing to be desired (at least not that I've seen)

Can't speak for the French version, though I have serious doubts it is any less excellent ;)

It all comes down to personal preference, I guess
