Number of Corps per Army Commander

Sat Nov 10, 2007 3:06 am

I have read that the number is six plus strat. value of Army commander.

Mac commands the Army of the Potomac, but I can only create 2 AoP corps, the third corps and others become the corp of a nearby army (2 regions away).

I tested this on the standard 1862 full campaign scenario, ver 1.07f

I went to the AoP which starts with six corp. I removed them all as corp commanders and then reinstated them. The first two returned as AoP corp, the others became Army of Virginia corps.

I am probably dealing with something that's just effecting me but if someone could check this out, I would appreciate knowing.

Thanks

Joe

I recently noticed this also. I don't know if this changed somewhere along the line of patches.

Based on McC, it would appear the number of corps = 1+ army leader Strat rating.

Strange, the formula should be: 2x strat + 3

Thanks Runyan for the confirmation. Pocus, in a much earlier post you mentioned 6 plus strat. value. I think you said you did that because of Mac's poor rating (which I assume allows something close to the historical number of corps he created).

Thanks again.

Yes I remember the previous formula. My apologises about the change, I think it made in one of the 1.07 subversion, but I failed to note that in the readme.

The new formula is too harsh....the fact is McClellan can't now have 5 corps as in reality....

2x1 + 3 = 5
am I wrong somewhere?

Sorry. I was thinking the new formula was 2*1 +1

but a player reported it could not reach the theorical limit though? If this is confirmed, there is perhaps a bug although the formula is rather simple.

I confirm the bug exists. McClelland is limited to 2 corps since the 1.07f iteration...

And BTW, without being bug, I would like to see AI build forts.... :sourcil:

(1) should be fixed for next version, I don't see where can be the bug right now!

(2) mmmh yes :)
