Defeat+recovery glitch

Sat Nov 03, 2007 12:16 pm

Got defeated in Clarksburgh (KY) and Polk's corps was totally disbanded while Polk himself is recovering from wounds in Prestonsburgh.

However...the glitch is that * General Doles escaped (he's still got the guns) and he's now named Lt. Polk Corp while Polk is actually somewhere else.

Very marginal problem but worth reporting.

As a consequence of this, Smith's Corps (remember Smith? The guy whom i moved from (VA) to give back Bonham his corps and whom i gave a corps in the Army of Tennessee) also got beaten and his corps disbanded same situation as Polk, just different Corps of the same Army.

While recovering from wounds (he's in Clarksburgh) he's still got the Golden Corps Commander ribbon...but there's basically no corps attached. All troops were disbanded.

Very marginal problem as well but you know...it's a bit confusing. I think the word Corp should totally disappear, ribbon and stack-diamonds as well. If corps has been disbanded/routed/obliterated, there's no more a Corps and the player should rebuild it (and pay its costs again).

You can take the Corps commander and remove him from his stack and he is still the Corps command even though he no longer has any men. Same thing that is probably happening there. Very minor issue. Does it have the option to disband the Corps when you select him were he is recovering from his wounds?

Ehm...it's exactly what I'm saying. Shouldn't be like that. When corps makes it for the woods or buys the farm, so should his corps leadership :)

More than a real issue, a minor thing to be reworked when there's time imo. Yes the option to disband is still there. Even as wounded and locked and with 0 men under his command, he seems to still be corps commander at all effects. Same as Polk who's being reached by Doles. Actually i am a bit worried about the fact all men vanished but the guns stayed. Those would be the first one to vanish (captured) in case of a mass routing as i suppose this battle was for my side. Nothing remained, just an unkillable general and the guns. Strange.

By minor I didn't mean didn't need to be overlooked, just that it doesn't really affect gameplay and those deserve more attention.

That is odd though and hopefully just an easy logic fix. Check if the general was injured in battle, disband the corps, send him to the hospital and let you either move another general to reform the corps or division or disperse the men, whatever you want to do.

I agree though, it makes much more sense to have the Corps cease exisiting if the General is unable to lead the men because the Corps is associated with the General in AACW and goes where he does.

I put AP Stewart into Clarksburgh with artillery attached and he gets wounded and bounced to Prestonburgh to recover but units artillery and militia still there. Only a certain Smith has those units in his stack now! I think I will stick him well out of way from now on!
