Should you be able to capture fort artillery when repulsed from attack?

Mikee64 also reports there several CSA ironlcads which are named CSS Fredericksburg. Same happened to me in my games twice (1.02b demo).

I could see how normal lighter artillery could be captured in a failed attack, (Troops take part of the fort, artillery is moved, then they're later repulsed) but I definitely don't see them moving the coastal or siege artillery. :)

I was thinking the same thing Spharv, that maybe regular non-emplaced guns might have a chance of capture.

The coastal guns are speed demons compared to the fort batteries, though. They were reporting something like 8 days to move to the next region; the fort batteries were reporting something like 300 days. ;)
