Informed that Saint-Cyr and Ecole Navale were taken away issue...

Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:17 pm

Turn is late March 1861. I saw when I clicked on the message categories button the following text, the Saint-Cyr and Ecole Navale are in provinces of France which are insufficiently colonized so the structures were taken down. :w00t: What?
One actual message stated as follows.."you can't maintain Saint-Cyr in ll de France since the region is insufficiently colonized"
Now I checked the map and yes indeed they are both gone.
I see that I can build them again...but why do I have to when these two structures were already in the game from 1850. Yes I have the 1.03c patch.
Any thoughts?

ouch... do you have the turn before the event, because I think you should roll back. If the problem persists I'll have to look at the reason, please PM me in this case

Hi Pocus...well since I was playing the game vs an opponent...I had decided to move forward some turns and had already started to rebuild the structures. Now if I have an issue as they are being rebuilt...or after being built this happens again I will send you the files.

OK...it seems to have happened again in Senegal...certain structures were taken down including school, trade, consulate, etc., because the text reads that the Senegal province is considered not sufficiently colonized and therefore certain buildings cannot be maintained. When I click on the school to rebuild it in this province I am told that I cannot build it because my colonial penatration is not within limits of this decision. The province Senegal is at France 101% CP. Will let you know via PM...
I did two roll backs to see if I would get a different result..did not work...

If it has happened in mainland France it is rather strange as these regions are out of the "colonial map". They should be considered core regions as they have land connection with the capital (France). Any non-colonial building should be built normally.

You have hit the "non-national" effect. In 1.03c, they added a feature which attempted to fix a problem of areas of your country not being yours after war (especially the Boshin War with Japan). What the code does, is make certain areas into either "national" or "non-national" territories. Both are no longer colonial, and thus all colonial actions can not be played. You no longer can gain PP from them, and you no longer pay money for colonial structure upkeep. Senegal has flipped to "non-national" due to the sea link, and is no longer a colony of yours.

If you are really unlucky, part of it became "non-national" territory for some other nation (this has happened in other areas to other players).

This has been identified on the forums earlier. As long as you are using 1.03c, you can roll back turns, but it won't do any good, as the areas have switched with the patch.

So, if you have colony in some regions and they due to patch 1.03c change to (non)national of nation, then some nation can "stole" region from you ?
Say spain "stoling" some regions under france colony ? As proposed somewhere else, adding national pop check, can help prevent non-national regins going mad, nut i think that another check can be added - looking for ownership of that colony. It is not nice to have colony won in war "stolen" this way by previous owner (or someone else).
