few colonial questions

Thu Oct 25, 2012 1:59 am

browsing wicki and found info about dominions and assimiliation

http://www.ageod.net/agewiki/Colonial_regions

when some country (russia now) dont have any dominion decision, will it get later ?
Simply for promoting continetal siberia mainlaind to dominion from "poor" colony.

Same goes for assimilation - it will show up once you have Cp of 100% or after certain game time ?

It is needed to have dominion before assimiliating ?

I'm playing my first game as Russia and am also interested in this. I think when CP reaches level 10 they may become National provinces?

Have you checked the population sizes in Alaska?
I've sent at least three groups of colonists to each province, but all are empty except two, these two have populations of just 18 and 20......!
No idea what is happening there. They are all about 47% development level (road), and the good ole USA is trying to sneak into one of them, even though it's only 1856 :)

each colonyst send (as russia) adds around 4 population (mainly serviles until they are abolushed by event) . Dont remember exactly but it is posible that for first 1 or 2 colonization you will not notice population increase, but for all other colonization you will see population added.
And as sidenote - invest on siberia or other colonies, not to alaska, you will lose (sold it) to US at set (historical) date, no chance to keep it (until ageod/moder) make posible to keep it. It is ironical that historicaly was sold to fund war, whch in game you shold allready winning with no need of money, won and be at peace. I realy hope we will see this posibility soon.

Oh,
It's a shame you don't have a choice in selling Alaska I agree.
It would be nice to see it become an optional event as you say.
I'll switch my efforts to getting the Siberian areas fully developed instead!

when sending colonist check for CP - one you reach 100% it is waste to send more colonist here, use them on less CP regions.

idea - it will be nice if devs add checking for CO to colonist - they will display 100% CP ares as yellow compared to normal green, for very quick orientation, so player can send here colonist to improve population, but will quickly know if it will have effort on CP too.

How it looks with tribal state, if I will declare war to them? Could I annex it? Will be it new colony or new national land?

if you declare war to tribal state, it is treated exacly like war with other states - you can sign peace and demand teritories, but it can need more wars do demand enough territory (all) to annex them. I thing annexing them via protectorate/colony is much better :) .
And just be sure you dont mistake regular war with tribal uprising/hostility (or how it is called).
And if i remmber corretly it will be national land, but with relative high chance to revolt, so i thing colonizing them is better.
