Hmm..the "M" beta patch for PON deleted my Franco Prussian War Scenario

Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:47 pm

Hi all...don't know if this was posted...but my title says it all. I purchased the Franco-Prussian war from Gamersgate yesterday. I see now after installing the newest beta patch today that battle scenario in New Game list (besides the Spanish American War) was deleted. Of course I will just re-install them..but has anyone else seen this.
I have not gone to the Paradox forum..but I will..check...
Thanks :)

Yes, this is very confusing:
- for the ACW DLC, you should actually install it before the patch (as the patch corrects also this scenario)
- for the FPW, on the contrary, you should apparently only install it after the patch (that may not be true in the future, if a future patch also brings corrections to this DLC)
- as to the SAW DLC, it is not deleted (nor changed ?) by the patch...

:bonk:

I would add, if I may, an opinion and a suggestion:

- IMHO, it does not make sense to release DLCs without a working, official 1.02 patch. Doing so, besides adding to the confusion, is perplexing: why waste resources releasing DLCs so soon if the core game has such serious issues ??

- I would suggest that the game patches did not touch the DLC scenarios (only the parts depending on the engine). The DLC events, OOB, etc. corrections should be released as small specific patches, available in a DLC subforum at Paradox.

We had to remove the FPW scenario from all people as most of them add received the beta scenario as an unexpected gift... This is only for patch M. After that, DLC won't be deleted at all, so you'll not have to install them again and again... in fact this will be as logic and common sense dictates, add DLC as the base, then patch the game so that DLC events are updated.

1) The battle scenarios are different in scope than the Grand Campaigns... they are similar to the old game scenarios.
So, an issue on the colonization game will not hinder the experience on a battle scenario right now. ;)

2) This is a side effect of beta patches (Pocus already explains the special problem with the FPW).
This will not happen in the official version... and we hope it will not happen in the future beta patches. ;)
