Assault stats

The unit detail window for units has both "assault" and "assault damage" lines. The "assault" line has values like 7/7, and the assault damage line has values like 2/15. I know the latter is kill/cohesion hits, but what does the other one mean?

I would like to know that too.

Correct me when I'm wrong :
-Offensive Fire = How successful the unit is in fire combat in offensive posture
-Defensive Fire = How successful the unit is in fire combat in defensive posture
-Assault = Used when range drops to zero, fire combat stops and melee combat starts and...???
-Ranged Damage = During fire combat number of kills inflicted and number of cohesion loss inflicted if successful hitting the enemy
-Assault Damage = During melee combat number of kills inflicted and amount of cohesion loss inflicted if successful hitting the enemy

Is that correct?

If so what does "Assault: X/X" stand for?
Is it "How successful the unit is in melee combat in offensive/defensive posture" or something else?

Assault Damage = Kills / cohesion losses that I inflict when I assault

Assault = cohesion loss / cohesion loss in what case???

Seems to make no sense.

Sorry but I still don't get it, I thought the second number in the "Assault Damage" line shows what cohesion losses I inflict on the enemy.
Assault Damage = Kills / cohesion losses that I inflict when I assault

So both values in the "Assault" line stand for cohesion loss?
But I only assault when I use assault posture so why 2 values?
Assault = cohesion loss / cohesion loss


Are my assumptions of the other lines correct?

In this screenshot, what duke and I are asking about is outlined in [color="Green"]green[/color]. What I think you guys think we're talking about is in [color="Red"]red[/color].
>>OK, I'm having problems uploading the file. If you look in the Element view panel (or whatever it is with all the stats), 2 lines above "Assault Damage" is a line that just says "Assault". It has 2 numbers, just like damage, but both numbers are the same. We're trying to figure out what those 2 numbers mean.

So I guess that means:
Assault = to-hit-% when assaulting / to-hit-% when getting assaulted

I guess that's why the two values never differ, at least I didn't see any unit that had different values in that line.


BTW that file seem to show the exact explanation of all values, any chance we get our hands on it?
