Need help trying to create division

Just got this game, and going through the tutorial.
I have been stuck trying to select a general add untis to creat a division. I have tried what the manual and the tutorial. Thanks

Note that it isn't possible to create divisions at the start of the grand campaign; you might have to wait a bit if that's where you are in your game.

I have the general selected I have him as a Division Commander, I hold the controll key and then select units but the + button never lights up. I am playing the tutorial.

gdbowen - If possible could you do a screen shot? If you have selected the "Enable Divisional Command" button from the screen, you should be able to combine units into the division. Without a screenshot, I can only speculate on some common errors.

1. Is the unit you are trying to put in the division locked (has a padlock icon over it)? These are static and/or event based units. If they are not yet active, you can't move them or put them into a division.

2. Make sure you don't have any non combineable units in there. Sometimes in my Control click frenzy I actually click on another general and it won't let you combine.

The division will only accommodate 18 total "elements" (including the leader). So that means you can build a division that will contain up to 17 elements. These elements are a combination of infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc.
