Infantry Battle on a River

Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:19 pm

AACW continues to surprise me! Here is the result of a battle between land troops while aboard ship.

Image

I was shipping troops via the generic river transport down to grab Lexington. It seems like CSA troops were on the way to reinforce that locale, and we crossed paths. (Notice that there is no color coding of the unit icons.) Picture it: guys on barges shooting at each other!

Man of God vs Goddess of War

I'd be interested in seeing all of the data on the firefight. I've read somewhere that there's a file that details every single detail of every single engagement, large or small. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I saw it, and I can't even recall relevant keywords for a search.

Do you know of this file? Would you mind posting it as an attachment?

It's called Battlelog and you can find it on the logs folder on the installation folder of AACW.
Thats is the easy part. The difficult is understanding it after you find it :D

Ahh these threads about river movement and combat always catch my eye. This is something I've noticed and had asked if anyone else had. I'll watch this thread for sure. Good to see I'm not crazy.

Thanks, Chaplin Lovejoy! Browsing the document, it looks like the poor Alabama Greys were just overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

I have two questions regarding the battlelog for those who know:
1) What is TQ?
2) Is "Protection" somehow related to TQ? In some cases (but not all :tournepas ) it appears that the Protection value is reducing TQ. Or is this just a coincidence?
