Medical unit usage

Thu Jul 10, 2008 1:41 am

What is a good proportion of medical units? How effective are they at preventing attrition do to movement or epidemics at various settings?

It seems to me they might be useful in helping to preserve your laboriously trained and experienced units.

Med Units increase cohesion recovery. They are a must for an advancing force. I try to keep them in my offensive-minded corps and have them stationed at cities/towns with depots where I will send my spent units for refitting and general recovery. I usually buy as many as I can afford but you only need 1 per stack (corps/armies or cities).
I dont believe they aid in reducing incidences of epidemics. Attrition is linked to cohesion so a Med unit helps there too.

All correct and no, they can't help against epidemics.

Don't overspend on these....You only NEED one hospital unit per army. Probably none in the west.

just my opinion though.

I buy all the medical units I can get as CSA - then relocate them to which ever Corps I have on offense or to Corps that have just had a battle!
