K can some1 give me tips on Longstreet?

Sat Apr 19, 2008 12:30 pm

Yeah I know another d#@n south help thread

But this is the thing.....Jackson n Grant come with 2 stars already....so easy to develop them, n if Longstreet came sooner, I could fiqure a way to develop him too...but he doesnt come till almost winter?....all the easy battles for both sides are over (talking PvP...I could easily develop him against AI) so any thoughts how to get him the second star since by the time he arrives things are getting ugly?

Had this problem also.

Leader Mod solves this, most important leaders get their 2* some data on 62. It gives a reasonable approach, if the USA is not a mad-assaulting boy, there is no way to promote. Thats one of the reasons playing vanilla I prefer USA AI as low aggresion, CSA leaders dont promote as easily.

I forced myself to launch an assault to a full entrenched division in fort with my most important 1* s (Smith for example). Thousand of boys killed (CSA loses were a lot greater than USA of course), but lots of medals, promotions and the such. Smith get his corps asap.

Another trick can be giving those leaders a fast big cavalry brigade + arty, and go on attacking enemy cavalry raiders.

Hmmm thks yeah some ideas.
1 not really into mods yet
2, plan...hmmm sounds too risky...uggh yeah losses bad n union gets promotions, but not longstreet :fleb:
3. waste turn after turn chasing raider, but no star :fleb:

well back to the drawing board :siffle:

Oh noh.. a assaulted leader union dont get promoted... it usually gets killed (or demoted can he survive)

Losing a few turns of just a single leader (even longstreet) in order to achive him promote to 2* is a really good trade for sure.

Oh ... if ANV is bored in his trenchs send him fight Grant on the tennesse, add jackson too, and you will earn your promotions!

Say hmmm I was asaulting someone in PvP ...lost big, n he said his leader got a promotion....ummm your saying not possible?

oh yes it is posible. But surely your USA counterpart does not put an 1* sherman in this situaton. If you hit with several powerful units, the defender

but if you are playing csa, it is too much needed to upgrade your generals than avoiding the enemies get a medal.

You need a minimum 4 extra corps commanders for your army achieve optimum results.
