Say where in the interface?

What area tells you what level you are playing....I mean its gotta be in a tool-bar somewhere?....right?

I think it's just the checkbox selection on the options menu. The tooltip will tell youy what level is corrently selected
By the way, i think you can change dfficulty level in mid campaign so if Athena seems helpless by 1862, you can up a level or two and continue playing the game.

Hmm you mean the pregame set up tool tip , right?.....but where in the game interface does it say? Or is it coded into the game save file?

From what i know this info its not on the main game interface
About the save, it should be coded there so the game know it must give bonus and the like. But don't know where, sorry
