A couple of of questions.....

Fri Jan 25, 2008 2:11 am

I just got done reading the Wiki agian and I have a couple of questions it doesn't address specifically.

1. It says that a general with a strategic value UNDER 3 will for the most part not function in a complete manor (can't have offensive actions, move slower, combat penalties ect).
I am CSA in Feb 62 and MOST of my 1 stars (minimum 3 strategic and some 4) in the west arn't active most of the time (they are sometimes). what I would like to know is how can you tell (in advance) that this is a probability?
I mean is it because they lose a battle, winter time, or what?

Next subject...I understand HOW a Militia gets to become a Conscript, but what I want to know is how do I tell when he becomes a conscript? Does the square with an X in it leave? And what signifies a Regular (icon)?

I have been holding my own and finally have an army to run the yanks out of Texas and MO and now MY Generals don't want to play nice!!!

2.How can you tell if a supply wagon is depleted?
I have looked at them, moused over them ect and I guess I have missed something simple.

Also how depleted (or rather how non depleted) must supply wagons be to become a depot?

In that same vein, IF you use river transports for supply depots (and I would think you make them the same way only on a river) how does the enemy take them over, OR destroy them?
Do they need a gunboat or just a unit to drag and drop on them?

3. And last but certainly not least...IF I have a general and he is a Div Commander with stats of 4-2-2 and I want to use another General with stats that are 2-0-0 as the second General in the division (to give more command points) but he has more (a lesser number) senority when I add him (even tho he is NOT a division Commander) it becomes his stack (His picture shows on the stack and name is used
(and I REALLY need this guy because of his attributes..say he is an artillerist).
Now my question is two fold...1. whose stats are used in the overall battle.

2. If one general can't fight this turn but the other can what happens to the one that can't fight if i iniaiate contact?

And lastly...When a troop is with a training officer how do I tell how much he has improved and is there a limit on improvement?

Oh, BTW in my game as CSA in early '62' its NOT money or war supplies that is killing me its lack of conscripts!!!!

Thanks for any help guys!!

The supply wagons depict two crates & two barrels if they are full, one if half-stocked (or thereabouts), etc.

Using water transports to create a depot:
1) dock them where you want the depot
2) click the create depot button, the same as when using land supply transport (wagons)

The depot is built as part of the structure already present.

I haven't buily a depot in a region without a structure yet, so no details about that, but I imagine it's the same arrangement.

With two generals in a stack, one is actiated, the other is not, they can still fight together as a stack if the active general is senior.

I believe the non-active general/Div fights at a penalty/reduced effectiveness, but he will go along for the ride & help in the fight, just not as well as an active general/Div.

The same applies for Corps, quite often in fact, one or more of the Divs won't be active, but if the corps commander is, then the whole stack can be used.
