1.10d crash

Wed Jul 02, 2008 2:15 am

I have been playing a PBEM game for 24 turns -- on turn 25 my opponent and I experienced crashes twice when I tried to send him my .ord file -- problem was only resolved after I sent the file to him in zipped format.

Also, I experienced a crash vs. Athena, turn 7 or so, after clicking end turn. Reloaded the game and no crashes vs. Athena.

Any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden?

The PBEM crash was due to the .ord file getting truncated by the email service. (either your's or your opponent's service)

No idea about the other.

So zipping the rile to .rar format is always recommended for this reason I suppose?

Fortunately, the crash against the AI happened just that once -- I will respond again if it happens a second time.

Thanks!

AACW has an in game compression option now, you can use it for PBEM.

Is that under the standard options? Please explain -- would the hosting player have to enable, or both of us?

Thanks
