AACW & GNU/Linux

Salut/Hello,

Je suis désolé, à peine engagé, je viens faire ch... l'Intendance pour que le train des armées puisse être tiré avec tous les types de ruminants possibles :
- Le boeuf (Windows XP) marche bien mais il a été déclassé dans mon Etat des West European Rockies (WR).
- L'âne (Windows Vista) (b)râme bien aussi (bien que j'ai mis du temps avant de retrouver mes sauvegardes paumées dans les nouvelles arborescences) mais il est en voie de déclassement anticipé pour régression technologique (il a échappé de justesse à l'accusation de sabotage de la productivité de guerre)
- Le gnu (GNU/Linux Ubuntu) est lui hélas encore obligé de porter un harnais de boeuf plus ou moins bien adapté (wine) pour espérer tirer les charriots, mais on a du mal à l'arnacher présentement !

Vu que mon Etat est vraiment abolitionniste, on a maintenant que des gnus dans nos champs. Depuis on vit et on travaille heureux dans un "Monde Libre", on arrive à tout faire ...sauf, hélas, à jouer à certain jeux qui ne tournent que sous Windows, ce qui est particulièrement exaspérant quand il s'agit d'un jeux aussi bien qu'AACW !

Conscient que l'Intendance à de plus hautes priorités que celle d'incorporer des gnus d'Afrique aux armées, j'ai essayer de mon côté la manip de ce post mais cela donne ces rapports d'erreur que je ne peux déchiffrer tout seul :

I just ran your post through google's language page. I do not speak French, sadly, but the translation was hysterical.

I do not know how well you speak English, but I would personally forego a stock build of Wine (which I have not tried in some time so could be wrong), and try a package from codeweavers. If you are using wine, consider using the lastest CVS version.

le pb vient de cette ligne là ( le reste n'empêche pas de jouer...):

Dans le dossier gamedata, il y a un sous dossier structures avec 5 fichiers .str numérotés de 0 à 4. Vérifie tout d'abord si pour une raison inconnue ton OS n' a pas modifié leurs noms.

Sinon, ton émulateur doit avoir un pb... a priori cette erreur n'a rien à voir avec DirectX... A voir aussi :la manip parle d'un fichier supplémentaire à installer.

Un post bien amusant d'Andatiep!

Pas mieux que Clovis, pour l'instant la seule erreur est un problème d'absence de fichier de jeu, donc rien à voir avec un soucis DirectX. Ca devrait bien se passer au final.

À Clovis & Pocus :
Les cinq fichiers évoqués n'ont pas changé de nom depuis _Windows Vista_ (0Harbor.str, 1Fort.str, 2Depot.str, 3City.str, 4IndianVillage.str), ils ont également exactement le même poids. Je vais donc retourner bidouiller dans la chaudière Wine... et aussi avec la dernière Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.
Je ne sais pas si ça joue mais j'étais en fait toujours avec le patch 1.9e. Avec le patch 1.10 ça plante aussi mais avec le log ci-joint (il y a une suite en plus après l'erreur critique...).
Sinon pour DirectX, et bien il y aura au moins eu une bonne nouvelle, parce que son installation étant déjà pas mal velue... je suis bien content si le problème ne vient pas de là !
Si j'y arrive, je vous promet une doc' finale propre sur le wiki !

I may try codeweaver trial finally, but it would be only by curiousity, 'cause i will not pay for it, since i don't like that trade (i already paid for the game, i don't see the point to pay so that it keeps working on my OS 7 days after ! That's the kind of unfair trade i want to avoid with MS/Windows, using GNU/Linux each time i can...)
Otherwise : always stay far away from google's language tool, French grammatic rules are enough a nightmare for everyone to make it more complicated with that kind of guillotine for the worlds' languages ;)

la bonne nouvelle est que ce log indique qu'il n'y a que cette seule erreur. Si elle est résolue, le jeu devrait se lancer.


Par hasard, .str ne seait-il pas utlisé par linux comme extension de fichier?

Par hasard, .str ne seait-il pas utlisé par linux comme extension de fichier?


Les fichiers .str sont lus comme des fichiers textes de base, je peux même les éditer si nécessaire...

alors ouvre-les et lis les. manifestement il y a quelque chose dans le contenu des fichiers qui doit être altéré...

J'ai comparé les fichiers (exactement le même poids, le même contenu, ligne par ligne...), j'ai même recopié directement ces fichiers depuis Vista dans le répertoire du jeu sous Ubuntu au cas où mais ça donne la même erreur.

Je suis maintenant en Ubuntu 8.04, wine 0.9.59, directX bien installé.
Pour l'instant, j'en suis à trois hypothèses :
- Est-ce qu'il ne faut pas chercher ailleurs que ces 4 fichiers (en amont je veux dire), ça implique quoi "TStrucDefs.LoadFromFile StrucDef" ??
- J'ai une version achetée en ligne, peut être qu'il y a une référence à un CD quelque part et que ça perturbe Wine... je n'ai pas de CD pour tester si c'est ça (mais j'y crois pas trop de toute manière).
- Le jeu s'installerai mal (sic) avec DirectX, malgré tout : j'ai lancé l'installation du jeu et du patch dans un Terminal pour voir un peu mieux ce qui se passe. (voir ci-après) ça n'a pas l'air très propre :

C'est après "fixme:shell :D llCanUnloadNow stub" qu'il affiche la phrase "TStrucDefs.LoadFromFile StrucDef definitions have some discrepancies, make sure that 1 - the structures UID are numbered in sequence, 2 - Start from zero"
Un truc avec Dll, ce serait pas lié à directX ?
