Inflation Errors in payment display

Fri Apr 18, 2008 6:04 pm

I m sure this is going to be a headache  ,as it is for me.

Once a bit inflation occurs, clicking an economic option does not count accordingly the money needed in the financial resume policies.

The problem is similar to that of the "division payment costs" but somewhat harder to master.

There are 3 problems here.

1.- Once an option (costing money) selected, the planned money counts just the basic value, not the inflation. If I want to move the capitol (50.000 $), and 10% inflation, the planned cost should say 55 $, but 50 are reported.

2.- If a new Inflationary option is added, it is not counted in the planned values. (Nor does it change Troop value, until the real turn starts)... So we end recruiting less troops, with 0 money without knowing why.

3.- Finally, as seems rounding to the nearest is the norm, this makes bad calculations for us the players, as a 10% inflation can be in fact a lot higher value.

((( Similar occurs with the VP / NM effects on the other economic options of course....)

I ll try to show an example:
Initial inflation 9%
I want to do some option 1% inflationary.

I want to buy for instance 100 Texas Rangers (yes I know there are not enough, just for the example)
As cost in the reinforcements is showed (rounded) -> 5 * 1,09 = 5,45 so round to 5
Planned cost 500$

But, turn starts adding 1% + 9 % -> 10%
So cost value of texas rangers is 5 * 1,10 -> 5,5 rounds to the nearest 6
Real cost 600$

Arggh !!! but 100$ are lost. Yes this is WAD, but hard to calculate for us the players, surely most of us learn to live with it.

I try to estimate an extra cost of the inflation for the planned costs, so if planned 500$ with a 9 +1 inflation, would be a 50$ prevision for me.
