Music problem

Tue Oct 09, 2007 4:06 pm

I have not seen any other threads about this, so it makes me feel like its just me. It seems that instead of the game just trying to play the actual 'music' files (as in only the songs) it tries to play all the normal sound files as well.

So instead of it just going down the music list and constantly playing songs there is huge gaps between the songs where it attempts to play things like "AGE2_train_railroad" which is just a sound file, but it tries to play it like a song. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The game considers as songs what is in the <your game path>\ACW\Sounds\Music.ini

Can you check what is in the file?

You are in 1.07e I believe (well 1.07 will do, I mean you are not in 1.00 or something?)

Yes i'm in 1.07e, in the musics.ini file it has the 19 actual mp3 songs. But as i'm playing the game it seems more like the game is getting the song list from the sounds.ini file instead, since it literally says its 'playing' the sound effect files and not only the mp3 files.

If anyone could link me either a picture or an actual copy of their Sounds.ini and Musics.ini files i would really appreciate it, really interested in figuring out my problem and being able to hear music the entire time i play instead of having it say "Now playing BOA_Select" :( :(

Well those are just the same as mine were, makes no sense as to why mine is trying to play sounds over just music. What file dictates that the musics.ini is the proper file to play 'music'? Because as far as i can tell my game believes that the sounds.ini is also the musics.ini. :bonk:

This is the message I get on a regular basis, not specifically that sound file, but others located in that folder (or the sounds.ini) Sometimes music plays with it, most of the time it doesn't. Is music actually supposed to play constantly?

I'm clueless too. Nobody ever reported that so i'm left wondering what can do that.

The sounds.ini and musics.ini names are constant in the code. There is no way they can be altered. Are you using 1.07 btw ?

I can just see a work around, disable music in game and play it with winamp for example.

Yes i'm using 1.07e, i just reinstalled the game, but have yet to see if that makes a difference. Is the music supposed to consistently play? looping the 19 songs as it would if it were played on winamp? And i probably will load them into winamp just because large breaks in music make me a bit less motivated. Thanks for the assistance.

edit: its still doing it even after the reinstall. The strangest thing about it all is that when it does play the songs it says "Now playing <random non-song sound effect>" like woodclick2 or something. Ahwell.

Sorry for the lack of assistance there. Yes there is a gap between each song.
