It's a bug??

Sun Aug 26, 2007 5:31 pm

I'm not sure if the following is a bug:

Playing PBEM with USA side, when my rival send me the ord file, and after load the game, in the game folder, i can see two files:
-whatever_CSA file and whatever_USA file.
Obviously i load the USA file.
However, i wonder why the second file. Load the file and SURPRISE.
Was the CSA file, i can see all your troops and besides give orders!!

This is a huge avantage to me but, well, is not fair..

Any in charge can answer that question?. I think is a serious drawback to any PBEM mail game.

If you are the host, it is normal to have both players turns in the game folder. So perhaps you are asking why there is no password protection instead? To be honest, because we has no time to implement that... Now it is done, but the module is still in internal testing because it has a few bugs remaining, but my guess is that it should be here for the Napoleonic game, so you will get it in AACW within a few weeks now.

Also know that even with a password, the host can always cheat by processing his turn, then rewinding and altering orders, so this password thing is mostly for the peace of mind of some players, because a passworded game won't prevent any cheating if you play with a dishonest player.

Hope it clears things a bit!

Many thanks Pocus, great news.
You right, but at least with a password, it won't be possible look the enemy orders and dispositions.
