Virtual memory exhausted

Fri Apr 20, 2007 4:28 pm

Either from playing too many rounds in one sitting or by leaving the PC idle with the game open, I'm getting virtual memory maxed out error messages. I've never had a problem or ever seen this error before.

I also don't know how to adjust or tinker with this. Is there something I should adjust in my settings or is there something in the game that needs a patch to prevent this drain?

I'm using Windows XP.

Yes;

Start ---> Control Panel

Open 'System'

Select the 'Advanced' Tab.

Under 'Performance', select 'Settings'.

Open the 'Advanced' Tab of this box.

Under 'Virtual Memory'. push the 'Change' button.

Select the radio circle check box 'System Managed Size'.

Question - was it set to a custom size?

You'll have to reboot for the change to take effect.

Check that your system drive and the drive where the game is installed have each several GB of free hard disk space. For the rest, as Wilhammer says :)

I never got a report of proven memory leak in BOA/AACW, but nothing can be excluded.

Everything working fine now. Virtual memory was customized at half what it should be. I changed to settings recommended above and all is well.
