Two defensive postures?

Wed Apr 18, 2007 3:47 am

Hi-

I have been getting battle reports of mine and my enemies army, both being in defensive postures.

Could someone explain this?

When I get a chance I will take a screenshot.

Are you the Jeff who send me a saved game?

Here is an excerpt of my reply:

The icon is a bit misleading, but the tooltip is more accurate, it says 'at least one of your army (understand force here) has a defensive posture'. So it means that one of the CSA cav was on aggressive and the rest on defensive for example, thus triggering all the battle.

That would be me.

Just sent my saved files. I will keep an eye out for this, and take note of youre explanation. Maybe I was jumping to the wrong conclusions.

I have had such a battle today as well. Pocus, I know tooltip says about "one of your forces" but then I dont understand then to whom the bottom posture icon refers to? Leading officer ? Biggest force? I always thought it was used to denote posture of the whole army/side, so you know in the battle report who was defending or attacking when you examine a battle report.

This is 'one of your forces', anyone. The one with the most aggressive posture. You can have forces with a mix of postures during a battle.
