Event tooltip help needed

Sat Apr 14, 2007 4:30 am

I installed the qiuckfix patch that supposedly introduces a tooltip function to a lot of the ingame events. I can not seem to get it to work however, no matter how long i keep the cursor over the event nothing happens, i tried clicking it, double clicking it. still no tooltip pops up. I am probably doing something wrong (or at the wrong position). Can anyone help out ?

Thanks

I have the same problem but only in the ´61 campaigns. In the other campaigns the tooltip works as intended.

the tooltips appears for many (not all I think, the text must be in the database) messages in red, the ones which are historical and with a pop-up.

We will make a second tour next week and finish the ones who are missing (the historical ones)

For example you should get it for the messages of the first turn of the april campaign, like the levy of Cavalry by Shurtz (sp?), Pratt Street Riot, etc. if you don't have it, then there is a bug...

Hi Pocus

the tooltips worked in the ´61 campaigns too but only for the USA player.

just started the april 61 scenario as the union, here the tooltips for the event work as expected. Then when i played the same scenario as the south the tooltip function did not work. So i think there is a small bug still in the game after the patch preventing the tool tip from working if you play the south in the april 61 scenario.

Hope you can fix this soon

P.S.

Just tried the july scenario as the south, here the tooltips don't work either, so it seems the problem is related to the side you choose, union events work fine, with the confederacy event tooltips don't work

there is no bug per se, but we have still many historical events which have no additional, in-game, description in the data base, as the feature has been added thursday. This is on the schedule though!

I'm unable to read most of the event messages I am receiving regarding industrial expansion (playing Union in 1861 scenario). The text does not fit in the message box, so I only can read the first part of the message. I gather from Pocus' comments above that the reason the tool tips don't work here is that these are not scripted events (i.e. not a red, clickable messages). However, is there any possibility the extra text could be made readable such as by continuing on a second line? I am running the game at my default resolution which is 1024 x 768. I had thought that AGEOD had already addressed the problem of event messages not fitting within the message box. Am I mistaken, or is the problem simply the resolution at which I'm running the game?

Thanks Pocus. I thought the thread had drifted far enough down the page that it might have been overlooked. I should have known better. ;)
