Error loading game at 50%

Fri Apr 13, 2007 12:34 am

Hi,

I receive the following error when loading the game at the 50% level. I have tried re-installing a number of times and running at differing resolutions and windowed/fullscreen to no avail:

Error Creating Texture 1460Jekil Sound

Thanks,

Bill

Hello,

Can you send me your DxDiag file, so that I check your computer specs?

To do so:
Start Menu, click on Execute, type DxDiag. Run all tests then save to a file on your desktop. Send the file to support@ageod.com please.

Thanks in advance.

got it and replied, I'm asking you a first tweak. Thanks.

(nb I won't be before my work computer this week end, so things will be a bit slower, but I will be able to check things though).

Hey again Pocus,

I know you're getting swamped so I thought I'd post here too.

I sent an email back to you this weekend. The tweak allows the game to start but I still end up with the same error occurring while scrolling the map. It's with random regions though...

I downloaded the game and re-installed to make sure there was no corruption of the files. Still receive the error. I've disabled AMON on my NOD32 when running the game and at different resolutions with still the same result.

I have an x800 Pro card which I realize is not state of the art but is a solid card and I can run BoA with no problems. Has anyone else had this same problem?

Thanks,

Bill

I got your mail yes. Are the regions really random? I would believe that the biggest ones can be a problem for your card.

A solution that I proposed to another player would be to switch to another set of driver, the Omega driver. See this thread please, the last post or so:

Hope it will fix your problem, once and for good.

Pocus,

I uninstalled the latest ATI drivers and installed the Omega drivers with the same results as above.

My card/drivers work perfectly with all of my games (100 or so...) so I wasn't holding out hope for the Omega route.

Can i receive a refund for the game?

Bill

Sure, this is the least we can do. I'm really sorry about your problem, but I don't see any other solution.

Please send a mail at contact@ageod.com (this is Philippe Thibaut), with a copy to me (support@ageod.com)

Ask for a refund, provide your serial key and order number.

Again, my apologizes to you,
Pocus.

I installed the most recent demo and when the game loads to 70% I get the same error:

Error Creating Texture 1460Jekil Sound

I have the ATI X800XL. I tried the most recent ATI and omega drivers with no luck. Not sure what to do. I really want to try the demo because all the reviews and comments I've read have me leaning towards a purchase.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Nevermind. Problem fixed per advice from this thread:

(Wilhammer's post re: codecs).

Thanks.

Off to play the demo and save the South. :hat:
