Installation Freezes

Have the same old problem with the installation. It reaches the end and is finishing but the box does not respond, the cancel button is grey. I have let it run for nearly half and hour and nothing. I also have tried other suggestions that were posted on here but to no avail.

I am reaching the end of my patience with this game and may just return to Civil War Generals which may be out of date and not as cool as this game, but it works on my machine. I have spent several days trying to sort this out.

Hi Gerrin, and welcome to the forums Sorry that you're having problems with getting the game installed.

Can be a bit more specific about what it is you have tried? It would be easier to recommend courses of action knowing what you have already tried. Do you e.g. have Spybot installed and running? Quite a few users have had problems similar to yours and had success when Spybot has been shut down while installing the game.

Managed to get it loaded after hours of trying to install the game. I hope that it was worth it. I eventually was able to download and install the latest patch version and that seemed to prompt the question for my serial number. Wasn't able to play the game much though.

Just so you guys know I have vista and tried to download patch 1.11, the general.opt trick, turning off my spyware program, loosening up the firewall, and a half of dozen other tricks that were offered on the forums here. Of course half an hour after I post my questions I find the newest patch and it works. So thanks for the help.
