Problem with PBEM files

Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:31 pm

Hello,
In a PBEM game I am the non-host in, I just received my .trn files but the game doesnt appear in my 'load game' list anylonger. :p leure:
I am on 1.08d, WinXP. The files and directories appears as they should. As with my other games, in the \Prog...\ACW\Saves\%gamename%.
I have tried loading older trn files, with no luck with that and dont know what else to try.

Any suggestions please??
John

if the trn was not zipped the file may be corrupt.

Actually, it was zipped...the weird thing is that the previous .trn files from this particular PBEM game, which of course were fine in the past, are now not any longer visible on the 'load game' listing.
I am thinking a saved game config file, or a specific file to this PBEM game, may be the problem...am thinking I may apply the patch and hope if fixes this issue, but will wait a bit more in case Ageod responds with a fix.

Thanks,
John

Hi, I am having the exact same problem. I am involved in 3 PBEM games and one of them is not visible in the in game save games. I have tried everything but it is not in any way possible to make this work. The file is not visible. I know how to do this, because the 2 other games work fine. Any ideas? :non:

Your opponent has apply a patch ?

Control the version of trn file in a your text edition software

It's line 17

Click on the small button called 'see AI files'. If you see your files in this mode only, then the host processed the turn without your orders.

Problem resolved

My opponent (the host) sent me the trn file again, and it worked!! :niark:

I later noticed that the previous (faulty) zipped file was somewhat smaller, so it appears that the zipping was the cause. What remains unanswered is...why was I not able to load a previous .trn file??

Dont know if Tordenskjold has his answer yet to his PBEM trn file problem.

Now returning to my regularly scheduled campaigning.

Thanks,
John
