Error Loading

Hope someone can help. I seem to have encountered the same problem as a number of other people. The game used to work fine, but I haven't played for a while and decided to start playing again, but when I clicked my shortcut - nothing. So I decided to do a fresh install from the CD. The install froze at the end, so I forced this to close using task manager. Then I applied patches 1.12 and 1.13, rebooted between each and then tried starting the game again, this time the box for the serial appeared, which I completed. Now when I try and start all I get is a black screen with AGE 2.0 in the bottom left. I've left it like that for 30 minutes and nothing, plus checked task manager and it say not responding against AGE.

Tried cleaning up my registry and rebooting as well as most of the tips I've read in other posts on this subject but all to no avail.

Help please.

Gray, thanks for a quick reply. I performed another complete uninstalled and reinstall and used patch 1.13b (still downloading 1.15 thanks for the link). Still had the black screen so I decided just to try something. I changed the properties to run in 256 clours. This time again I got the black screen but also an error box saying "could not find any compatible Direct 3D devices". Now I did change my graphic card a short while ago to a GeForce 9800 GT. Once I finish downloading 1.15 I'll try again, but any thoughts on this error? Coincidence?

You should send your DxDiag to support then. Be sure to run the DirectX 2D AND 3D tests also.

Horray it is now working

Did another complete uninstall/reinstall and applied 1.15, ran dxdiag and performed Direct Draw tests etc, and hey presto AACW lives again.
