Unable to Open Latest Quick Fix

Mon Sep 07, 2009 9:12 pm

Weird occurance ...

I have attempted to both save and to just open the latest QF for AACW [that'd be QuickFix5]. I have also attempted the same with the new WWI fix - i, I think]. Each time - and I have tried several times - between shutting off AV software, rebooting, etc. - I get this message:

Cannot open file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, please try downloading the file again.

I am using WinZip 11.2. At first, I thought it was my system - and it very well may be - but, other zip files I have, including previous patches, etc. from Ageod, open normally. I have even uninstalled and then reinstalled WinZip.

has anyone else encountered this error, or can anyone suggest a solution? I'm dumbfounded!! :bonk:

Media Fire .zip download worked just fine for me. Very, very strange! For some reason, those 2 new downloads direct from the Ageod server are not working for me. BTW, I tried each of them several times ....

Thank you, Gray, it is most appreciated.

Now, for WW1 1.06i [I think] ...

Yes, Gray, if that is not too much trouble. I can download it sometime tomorrow.

Obviously, it is some quirk on my system, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what. No real changes since I last successfully downloaded a file from here. Actually, the files DO download, but WinZip won't open 'em!!!

Thanks again ..

I've had intermittent problems with d/l from AGEOD.
What I get is 'partial' file.
UnZip then gives the 'corrupted archive' error.

I've always been able to re-download with success thereafter

Check the file size of the zip vs. the stated size in the 'run/save' window.
Usually the 'bad ones' are only ~ 400-500 KB

Dunno why.
Haven't noticed this at other web sites
