When installing the game it constantly freezes upon the ''finishing installation'' section at the end of the install.... i left it for 3 hours yesterday there while i was bbq ing and when i return it was still there... Ive tried this several times yesterday and everytime the same result, any ideas?
Also my cd doesnt auto launch anymore i have to manually launch the install program. (cant remember if it was always like that or not)

P.S. The game was working fine on the same machine previously, just had to unistall it because i wanted a clean install for the the PBEM im currently playing (to ensure no version curruptions), am reduced to playing on the laptop which is making me crazy...

I disabled them, i install the important ones manually.

So no ideas why my installation is stalling upon the ''finishing installation'' section then sir?

i was to quick... i want my bottle back, lol.

But seriously after my install i had black screen problems with AACW so i thought ah wait i installed it with the beta patch that was my mistake.... so i unistalled the full lot and now im stalling again on the setup finished screen.. but this time there is nothing hiding behind it..
i thought there wasnt before felt foolish after u suggested the alt tabing and it worked lol. Which suggest ive either an installing problem, my cd is damaged or that im having conflict somewere, the only new programme i have fitted to my machine is Empire Total War (since my last succesful install 6months ago) dont think that conflicts as i have all previous total war games and no problems.

Any other ideas?

Regards

Mr T

Install the game with the installer. When it "halts", just close it.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the game directory (which, by default, should be C:\Program Files\AGEod's American Civil War). Then go to the ACW folder, and the Settings folder, and open the general.opt file using notepad.

What you're looking for is the Serial Number on the bottom of that file. You can just type it in there and save the file, and the game should work.
