Sound-Problem

Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:42 pm

Good evening,

I unistalled ACW completly and installed it new. Before this ACW runs without any trouble but now I`ve sometime the problem that the music is played ingame, but it holds on to play the song and then the game aborts. I`m using WIN XP-SP3 and I just updated before I installed ACW new my AC`97 Rack Sound

Any ideas

aside from rolling back to the previous AC97 driver, I don't see. If they are a serious company, theoretically, you could report that their new driver is crashing an application and they should check the issue. Perhaps you can post your report in their forum.

I'd recommend turning off the music for the game, then. There's not really much that Pocus (or anynoe else, for that matter) can do about another companies drivers.
Sorry to hear about your problems.

Yes, when music is out there are no problems...I will install a Soundblaster that I`ve in my other PC, maybe the AC`97 is a little bit damaged an other Idea I don`t have anymore :bonk:

So you have the possibility of keeping sounds and playing music with an external program? It is better than nothing

So I installed now an Soundblaster Live (buy price 25Euro) and the game runs now without any problems and without any sound problems.

Yes, I have an external programm to play music ingame but now I don`t need it anymore. I think the problems come from the other game I play "WoW" (World of Warcraft) seems to be as this killed my original sound-driver from AC`97 (however).

Game runs, hurrah hurrah

Nothing like a soundblaster

To be honest I have had installed a specific sound card in my last desktops (awe, audigy, x-fi now) but if I use the on board sound I am not able to differentiate the sound :mdr: But still there is a psychological effect that makes me buy them :mdr:

Now that you have a sound card, you can disable the on board sound in the bios, just in case there are still problems
